Ancient Delphi and Arachova is a full day excursion to the navel of the earth, also called Omphalos, one of the UNESCO’s World Heritage Archaeological Sites. Based on the mythology Zeus sent two eagles from the ends of the world to meet at the center which was the archaeological site of Ancient Delphi, which was also a place of mysticism.

Meeting at Syntagma Square at 7:45 in order to start at 8:00 our excursion to the holy ancient city of Delphi. On our way, we will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Greek nature as we journey by the artificial lake of Yliki, where we will see the historical city of Thebes on our horizon and we will ascend the slopes of the beautiful mountain of Parnassus.
During the journey, we will meet beautiful villages with particular topographical and perfect harmonics with their natural construction.
UNESCO's World Heritage Archaeological site
Upon our arrival at the UNESCO’s world heritage archaeological site, we will admire ancient buildings such as the Athenian treasury, which was dedicated to the god Apollo. Then, we will be impressed by the oracle, also known as the navel of the earth, the ancient stadium, as well as many other ancient monuments and we will end up at the archaeological museum.
Then, we will visit the ancient temple of Athena Pronaia, a unique masterpiece of ancient Greek architecture and we will make our way to the picturesque village of Arachova to enjoy or lunch.
Free time to wander through the narrow streets of the village, stare the view from the stone bridge and the true gem of the village, the steep rock with the clock. In the old days, this particular rock was used as a fridge for the cheeses of the city, thus it was named ”Tyrias” which means Cheese. Arahova is famous for the local delicious Formaela cheese.
Finally, we start our way back to Athens, enjoying the rest of the route as the night falls.
