  1. ATHENS MARATHON

We pick you up from your hotel and we start the magical excursion to Mythical Greece. Our first destination is the Marathon town, in which the battle of Marathon in 490 BC took place, where the heavily outnumbered Athenian army defeated the Persians.

Pheidippides was a Greek herald that was sent running from Marathon to Athens to announce the victory. The marathon running race was conceived in modern times based on Pheidippides route, which we will almost traverse all, as he did in 490BC.

  2. MARATHON MUSEUMS

Throughout our excursion we will pass via the beautiful suburbs of Athens, the Pallini area, one of the oldest sites of Athens, Pikermi, Neo Voutzas, Mati and we will end up in our first station, the Archaeological Museum of Marathon, where we will admire the rich archaeological exhibits of the area. Then, we will visit the Marathon Run Museum with the unique of beauty exhibits from all the Olympic Games that have taken place since 1896 as well as the first Olympic Games of modern history. We will admire Olympic medalists, we will see the torches of the Olympic Games, and much more.

  3. MARATHON TOMB OF BATTLE

We will take a short break for a coffee or snack and we will continue our excursion to the world’s only Tomb of Marathon. It is the exact point where the famous and epic battle of the Athenians took place against the Persian Army’s military hordes. We will walk to the archaeological site where the most historic battle took place and inspired Alexander the Great. A unique monument of rare beauty and charm.

We take a short break to enjoy our delicious lunch.

  4. CAPE OF SOUNION TEMPLE OF POSEIDON

We leave behind the historic town of Marathon and we continue our excursion for the Cape of Sounion where we will admire the unique Temple of Poseidon, built in a panoramic view where the Aegean Sea is connected with the Saronic Gulf.

According to the Greek mythology, Aegeus was standing in this rock waiting for the return of his son, Theseus, from Crete, and when he saw in the depths of the horizon the ship turned with black sails, he fell into the sea, which was named in his honor the Aegean Sea.

  5. CAPE OF SOUNION ATHENS

We leave for Athens following a different route by crossing the coastal, also called Greek Riviera, where we will take pleasure of the enchanting blue, which spreads till the horizon.
