Nemea is well-known for producing the most qualitative and tasteful wine in Greece for thousands of years.
We start our tour on the peninsula of Peloponnese, which is rich in ancient history, outstanding landscapes, crystal clear seas and sandy beaches. On our way, we cross a part of one of the most important processional roads in ancient Greece, the Sacred Way (ancient Iera Odos) in which we regard the Sanctuary of Aphrodite outside Eleusis. We have a quick stop to walk across the pedestrian bridge of the exquisite Corinth Canal that separates the Peloponnese peninsula from the rest of Greece and connects the Saronic Gulf with the Corinthian Sea.
Moving on, we steer towards Ancient Corinth which lays on the northern foothills of the Acrocorinth hill, around the Archaic Temple of Apollo. In the archaeological site, we meet the Asklepieion and the Lerna Fountain, the Peirene Fountain, the Roman Odeion (Odeum), the Glauke Fountain, the Theater, the Bema of Saint Paul and the Temple of Apollo, one of the earliest Doric temples in the Peloponnese and the Greek mainland, an emblem for the Greek city of Corinth, reflecting its growth and prosperity. We visit the archaeological museum which is located in the center of the archaeological site of ancient Corinth with exhibits from prehistoric times until the Byzantine period.
We continue our tour to Ancient Nemea, the sanctuary of Zeus, which was once the venue for the biennial Nemean Games, held in honor of the god Zeus and became one of the great Panhellenic festivals. It must be noted that Hercules carried out in Nemea his first labor, the slaying of the lion that had been sent by Hera to destroy Nemea.
Inside the archaeological site, we meet the Ancient Athletic Stadium with the well-preserved tunnel, the Sanctuary, the Temple of Zeus and the Archaeological Museum where we admire the collection of Gold of Aidonia, an exquisite assortment of gold rings, seals and beads.
Driving through the vineyards of the largest Greek viticulture wine production zone with the finest indigenous varieties, we visit one of the best wineries in the Peloponnese peninsula. There, we explore in-depth how wine is produced by learning the wine-making stages and we experience the exclusive taste of premium local wines with precious and tempting aromas.
Our tour has come to its end and we get our way back to Athens and if you still have the strength and mood for further explorations in the paved old city of Athens, we drop you off in Plaka, optionally, as our final stop.

*Significant Note: A minimum participation of 2 people is necessary for the private tour to be performed.

Early in the morning, we drive towards Marathon Avenue, which constitutes the actual and original Marathon running race that was conceived in modern times based on the Pheidippides route, reaching the Marathon battlefield, where the most deciding battle for the future of both Greece and Europe was held in September 490 BC. between Greeks and Persians, and is considered the turning point of world history. Inside the archaeological site of Marathon, we admire the Tumulus of Athenians and then we visit the Marathon Archaeological Museum in which the exhibits date back from the Prehistoric to the Late Roman era.
We continue our tour by reaching the ancient theater in Thorikos, which is the oldest known theatre in existence, located north of the ancient mining town of Lavrio. Afterward, we have a quick stop at the center of Lavrio, which in antiquity was famous for its rich silver mines, some of the oldest in the world. Nowadays, Lavrio has ubiquitous cafes and restaurants most of them in restored old houses in the paved streets of the town, while private yaughts are gracing the harbor. At this point, we take a break to enjoy our lunch.
Moving on, we drive to the archaeological site of Cape Sounio, the southeastern edge of the Attica Peninsula, to visit the dominating Temple of Poseidon, the god of the sea (and of water generally), earthquakes, and horses, surrounded by the remains of fortifications as well as the gateway (porticos). Apart from the unique location and if we are lucky, we will stare at the romantic and breathtaking sunset. The Temple of Poseidon was designated a Unesco’s World Heritage Archaeological Site in 2014, as part of Ancient Lavrion. Nearby there are also the remains of the temple Athena Souniada.
We get our way back to Athens with a stop at the magnificent natural landscape of Vouliagmeni’s lake to enjoy the rare geological phenomenon and then we steer towards via a scenic seaside drive passing through the uptown suburbs of Athens, Varkiza, Voula, Glyfada, crossing the coastline known as the Athenian Riviera where we have our final stop at the ‘Stavros Niarchos’ foundation cultural center.
Early in the morning, we drive towards the national highway enjoying the beautiful scenery of Greek nature as we journey by the artificial lake of Yliki until we reach the Archaeological Museum of Thebes, one of the most important museums of Greece since some of its collections are rare or unique. Furthermore, we visit the Byzantine tower in the museum’s yard that had been built above the Bronze Age Acropolis ruins, which of course can be seen via the glass floor.
Following, we ascend the slopes of the beautiful mountain of Parnassus, where we meet during our route with beautiful villages with particular topographical and perfect harmonics with their natural construction until we reach the UNESCO’s World Heritage Archaeological Site of Ancient Delphi. Inside the archaeological site, we admire ancient buildings such as the Athenian treasury, which was dedicated to the god Apollo, the Temple of Apollo and the Oracle, also known as the ‘navel’ of the earth, the Ancient Stadium, the Gymnasium as well as many other ancient monuments ending up at the archaeological museum with Gold and Ivory statues not to mention the famous Charioteer. Then, we visit the Ancient Temple of Athena Pronaia, a unique masterpiece of ancient Greek architecture.
We make a quick stop at the modern village of Delphi and we drive straight to the picturesque village of Arachova to enjoy our lunch and some free time to wander through the narrow paved streets, stare at the view from the stone bridge and the true gem of the village, the steep rock with the clock. In the old days, this particular rock was used as a fridge for the cheeses of the city, thus it was named ‘Tyrias’ which means cheese. Arahova is famous for the local delicious Formaela cheese.
Finally, we drive to the beautiful scenery of Levadia where we are impressed by the springs of Krya and the Herkyna river. Running waters with small and numerous waterfalls, stone bridges and nature in its grandeur with huge age-old plane trees as well as a small gorge compose the water paradise of Levadia.
Our tour has come to its end and we get our way back to Athens and if you still have the strength and mood for further explorations in the paved old city of Athens, we drop you off in Plaka, optionally, as our final stop.

Early in the morning, we drive towards Athinon Avenue crossing also a part of one of the most important processional roads in ancient Greece, the Sacred Way (ancient Iera Odos) that leads to Eleusis, the birthplace of Aeschylus as well as the site of the ancient Eleusinian Mysteries, celebrated in honor of Demeter and Persephone. Plato, Plutarch, Marc Avrilius and Ioulianus were initiated into the secret Eleusinian mysteries, which continued to be regarded as the most sacred of all the Grecian mysteries and religious rites down to the fall of paganism. After entering the archaeological site of Eleusis, we meet the Temple of the Propylaea Artemis, the Eschara, the Roman Fountain, the two Triumphal Arches, the Sanctuary and the Telestirio, the main church of goddess Demeter. We visit the archaeological museum which is one of the first museums of the Greek state.
We continue our tour driving along a coastal road where we see the island of Salamis (where the historical naval battle took place between the Athenians and the Persians) and having a quick stop to walk across the pedestrian bridge of the exquisite Corinth Canal that separates the Peloponnese peninsula from the rest of Greece and connects the Saronic Gulf with the Corinthian Sea.
Moving on, we steer towards Ancient Corinth which lays on the northern foothills of the Acrocorinth hill, around the Archaic Temple of Apollo. In the archaeological site, we meet the Asklepieion, the Lerna Fountain, the Peirene Fountain with its six openings, the Roman Odeion (Odeum), the Glauke Fountain, the Theater with a capacity of 18.000, the Bema of Saint Paul, the Ancient Corinth Market, the remains of the Gymnasium and the Temple of Apollo, one of the earliest Doric temples in the Peloponnese and the Greek mainland, an emblem for the Greek city of Corinth, reflecting its growth and prosperity. We visit the archaeological museum which is located in the center of the archaeological site of ancient Corinth with exhibits from prehistoric times until the Byzantine period.
It’s time to take a break to enjoy our lunch.
Afterward, we ascend to the Acrocorinth hill to admire the oldest and largest castle in southern Greece as well as the breathtaking view of the Corinthian Gulf.
Our tour has come to its end and we get our way back to Athens and if you still have the strength and mood for further explorations in the paved old city of Athens, we drop you off in Plaka, optionally, as our final stop.

*Significant Note: A minimum participation of 2 people is necessary for this private tour.

Early in the morning, we climb to the glorious Acropolis hill, one of the most significant Unesco’s World Heritage Archaeological Site with an outstanding universal value, where we are impressed by the greatest and finest sanctuary of ancient Athens, the Parthenon, dedicated primarily to its patron, the virgin goddess Athena, the Temple of the Athena Nike, Propylaea, the monumental gateway, as well as the Erechtheion. At the slope of Acropolis, we sightsee the Theatre of Dionysus and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus.
Then, we wind down through Kerameikos archaeological site reaching Thisio where we visit the Ancient Agora, with the Stoa of Attalos, the first-ever shopping arcade as well as the Temple of Hephaistos, the best-preserved temple in Greece standing largely as built.
We drive to Panepistimiou street, one of the most historical streets of Athens where we see numerous neoclassical buildings and arcades but most importantly the Trilogy of Athens, the Academy of Science, the University of Athens and the National Library. Afterward, we go to see the Temple of Zeus, the Arch of Hadrian as well as the Panathenaic Stadium, Aristotle’s Lyceum and driving alongside the National Garden we have a quick stop at the Greek Parliament to regard the Changing of the Guards “Evzones”.
Moving on, we steer towards via a scenic seaside drive to the Saronic Gulf which will take us to the archaeological site of Cape Sounio, the southeastern edge of the Attica Peninsula. Passing through the uptown suburbs of Athens, Glyfada, Voula, Varkiza, crossing the coastline known as the Athenian Riviera, we have a stop at the magnificent natural landscape of Vouliagmeni’s lake to enjoy the rare geological phenomenon.
We continue our tour by reaching the Cape of Sounio where we take a break to have our lunch at the junction of the 2 seas between the Saronic Gulf and the Aegean Open Sea. Then, we visit the sacred archaeological site where we admire the dominating Temple of Poseidon, the god of the sea (and of water generally), earthquakes, and horses, surrounded by the remains of fortifications as well as the gateway (porticos).
At this point, we get our way back and if you still have the strength and mood for further explorations in the paved old city of Athens, we drop you off in Plaka, optionally, as our final stop.

*Significant Note: A minimum participation of 2 people is necessary for the private tour to be performed. This is a private tour.
